new blogger tool

I'm going to try this by using a blogging tool that is an extension for Firefox called Deepest Sender.

So far, I am really liking Firefox a lot!

Oh shit! It WORKS!

testing firefox

Because of some frustrations I've had using Safari, mostly while trying to download articles on ScienceDirect, I've decided to give Firefox a try. It looks like it works even better, even with Blogger, than Safari does. I may have just found my favorite new browser!

something nice for a change

I took this picture of a fruiting prickly-pear cactus while visiting my parents last month. I have some knit-blogging to do, for a pair of socks I recently completed, and some pet-blogging too, as I get some good pics of my birds with my new camera.

just when you thought it couldn't get any worse

...than, say, the story of the Spanaway dog-fucker, you find this:

A 44-year-old Saginaw man remains jailed today on charges of bestiality after he was seen engaged in sexual acts with a dead dog, Michigan State Police troopers said.

Ronald Kuch was arrested after police searched the area of Midland and Carter roads Friday for a man who ran away from a Bay County Animal Control officer. The entire incident was within view of a nearby day care center.

I'm just speechless. h/t to Daily Rotten.

shorter Lakoff

I tried reading Moral Politics, but I have to admit that it made me vaguely uncomfortable. Now, I think I know why. Billmon nails it:

The best way to a voter's "heart," in other words, isn't exactly through the stomach, but it does work, shall we say, from the bottom up. Which is why most really effective mass propaganda is aimed, in one way or another, at massaging that sweet spot tucked away on the bottom of the cerebrum. When the consultants talk about "hot button" issues, that's the button they mean.

It boils down to an appeal to our baser instincts, and while Lakoff can dress it up in pretty language, really his framework of strict vs. nurturing fathers is just another tactic to get at these buttons.

omigod, now this is funny

This is really funny, as a matter of fact. For those of you who have never been to Seattle, this is what we're all about: self-absorbed, self-congratulating, superior, condescending, passive-agressive little fucks! Bwahahahahahahaha!

beyond belief

What the fuck is wrong with some men?

Pierce County prosecutors say 26-year-old Michael Patrick McPhail was caught by his wife on Wednesday night having intercourse on the back porch with their four-year-old female pit bull terrier.

The wife took photos with a cell phone and called police.

Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer says "There's pretty clear proof what happened to this dog."

A law against bestiality was passed last year because of the...um...Enumclaw incident (yes, there is video on the internet, no, I don't recommend you view it), and I guess we all hoped that just passing it would be enough of a deterrent. But no, now they are actually going to have to prosecute a case - if the sick dude doesn't off himself waiting for trial.

I hope the wife takes him to the cleaners, she certainly has good grounds for divorce, I'd say. The article doesn't say if they have any kids, but I sure hope the hell not!
