Yes, African greys really are this smart:
"I'm Mr. Yosuke Nakamura," the bird told the veterinarian, according to Uemura. The parrot also provided his full home address, down to the street number, and even entertained the hospital staff by singing songs.
I only wish they would recognize that we humans can't fly, so we wouldn't have to climb trees to rescue them when they get lost.

Dude, if you're relying on visiting blogs after a Google on 'African grey' to tell you, or your friend, what you need to know about keeping parrots, then you're a bigger dud than my blog is.
